The policy document of a bike insurance policy is a legal contract between the insurance provider and the policyholder and serves as proof of the agreement between the two. When a customer purchases a bike insurance policy from the policyholder National Bike Insurance will send a copy of the policy document to the registered address of the policyholder within a few working days of the purchase. This document is essential and must be kept carefully as it will be required both for claim settlement and renewal purposes. It is also advised that the policyholder goes through the document themselves to fully understand it and check its particulars for errors. The following steps will guide you to download your bike insurance policy from National Insurance online:
Step 1: Visit the website of the Nation Insurance Company.
Step 2: Click on their customer portal.
Step 3: You will need to register yourself. Fill in your name, policy number, registered email ID and contact number in the given space.
Step 4: Once this is done your password and ID will be generated. Use this to log into your account.
Step 5: Once you have logged in place a request for the policy document. The document will then be sent to your registered email ID. You can then download and/or print it out.
According to the Indian Motor Tariff, it is compulsory for every bike driving on Indian roads to have third party insurance. It is also important to be able to show these documents when asked for by the police. However, it is no longer compulsory to carry a hard copy of the document. The e-Vahan Bima app launched by the IRDAI as it can scan the QR code that will give them all the details of the bike insurance policy.
When you purchase a bike insurance policy a hard copy will be sent to your registered address. In case you require a duplicate you can simply download a copy of the policy online and print it out. Follow these steps mentioned above to request a copy of your bike insurance policy online.
There are two main types of changes or endorsements that one can with their national bike insurance policy. The first is non-financial endorsements such as rectification of name, gender age etc. The second type of endorsements are called financial endorsements, i.e., they are changes that affect the premium of the insurance. In bike insurance, these include the transfer of ownership, the addition of CNG or LPG kits etc. The endorsements can be made on the National Insurance website by logging in. However, if this is not working for some reason you can also contact the customer care service and provide the requested documents.
